    PowerPoint 2007
    7:30pm in the Founders Room
    Join our trainer Patty Hoyt in this hands-on introduction to the popular Microsoft PowerPoint 2007 presentation software. Patty will teach us how to format text, save a presentation, add a slide, use the outline pane, move between slides, add text in the outline pane, add text to a text box, move and resize a text box, add clip art, change the background, run a slide show, add a slide transition, and custom animation.  Attendees should have prior experience using a computer.     Smartphones and Tablets Workshops
    Friday, October 17 and Friday, November 21, 11 am in the Founders Room
    The Golden Gate Computer Society (GGCS), in collaboration the with Belvedere-Tiburon Library will hold the first two sessions of the new GGCS Special Interest Group(SIG) "Mastering Tablets and Smart Phones" at the Library on Friday, October 17th and Friday, November 21st at 11am.  The focus at these two meetings will be on how to handle the basic features of both Android and iOS devices, making the most of activities such as browsing the web, sending Email, taking pictures and using library resources to reserve and download books, as well as sharing use of favorite apps.  Ivan Silva from the Library and GGCS members who use the devices will be there to demonstrate features and help you master YOUR device.  In December, the SIG will move to the GGCS in San Rafael, and all are invited to continue discussing their Tablet and Smart Phone experiences there.  Be sure to bring your tablet or smart phone to the SIG meeting.     How do you protect yourself online? The web works by connecting every computer and device in the world. This offers astounding opportunities, but also exposes us to risk.     OneClickdigital Audiobooks
    2-3:30pm, in the Founders Room
    Need more downloadable audiobooks? Love the narrators for Recorded Books? You need OneClickdigital. The OneClickdigital eAudio app is available for Android, Kindle Fire, iPhone, iTouch and iPad users. Join Librarian Jason Duran to learn about downloading the app and signing up for an account so you can download more audiobooks today. You should know your email and password to your app store, and your library card and pin to create an account.

    This workshop includes steps anyone can take to make their online lives more private and secure. It also explores some of the larger ideas and debates around privacy, trust and your digital footprint.Space is limited!     Making Holiday Cards with MS Publisher 2007
    7:30pm in the Founders Room
    In the holiday cards class with Librarian Heather Anne Lamb, we will learn how to create fun holiday cards that have photos, clip art, interesting frames & borders, and text using MS Publisher 2007. The formatting we will learn is applicable to creating other types of cards for birthdays, loved ones, parties and more.
